We have a tiny, tiny amount of an exceptional blend by Camille from Oak Knoll. She is a master, especially when it comes to Bordeaux varietals and this one is exceptional!
85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, and 5% Petit Verdot, aged for 24 months in new French oak, this wine delivers a luxurious experience from the very first pour.
Tasting Notes:
Color: Deep, inky garnet with a nearly opaque core, shimmering with violet reflections at the rim—this wine is as visually compelling as it is on the palate.
Aromatics: The nose is immediately inviting, unfolding layers of ripe blackberries, cassis, and dark plums intertwined with warm baking spices, espresso, graphite, and a hint of crushed violets. Notes of dark chocolate and toasted vanilla linger, a signature of its time in French oak.
Flavors & Texture:
Entry: Silky and expansive, this blend greets the palate with a rush of ripe black cherry and blackcurrant, framed by soft yet structured tannins.
Mid-Palate: The richness deepens with hints of blueberry compote, spiced plum, and a touch of cocoa, while the Malbec and Petit Verdot lend both vibrancy and depth. The oak integration is seamless, adding layers of sweet tobacco, cedar, and a subtle earthiness.
Finish: Long and elegantly structured, the wine finishes with a lingering note of dark chocolate, baking spice, and a whisper of crushed herbs. The tannins are refined yet present, promising excellent aging potential.
This is a wine of power and grace, a bottle that will impress now with a decant but will continue to evolve beautifully over the next decade. Our 2022 Camille Benitah Blend is a true collector’s piece—an invitation to experience the artistry of Oak Knoll terroir in its most expressive form.
