2021 Kallias Saint Helena and Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

100% Cabernet from two amazing vineyard sites in Saint Helena and Rutherford.  The St Helena property is a tiny, steep site that’s dug into the rocky, gravelly soil.  It’s a little slice of Cabernet perfection - the vines are old, the yields are low, and the sun exposure is just right for a gorgeous expression of Saint Helena Cab. And the Rutherford vineyard is a "cult cab" designate! Our winemaker, Camille Benitah, created a blend of these two sites that is true perfection.

Right away the Kallias sets a serious tone with its deep saturated purple color.  The nose is mind-blowing, a stunning perfume of cassis, violet and spicy black cherry with hints of grilled herbs and flowers.  Then the palate is beyond rich and powerful, but with incredible balance.  Blackberry and roasted plum flavors dominate the palate together with subtle nuances of oak and dark chocolate, all leading to a long finish with a bold yet graceful tannin.  That’s what makes this wine so special, it’s a powerhouse, but the balance, supple tannins and depth of flavor makes it so delicious to drink right now.
