This is Sauv Blanc at its best from one of our favorite winemakers, Greg Fitzgerald, from the Walnut Wash Vineyard tucked away in the northeast corner of Calistoga.  Before Greg settled in Napa he honed his winemaking skills in New Zealand and fell in love with Sauvignon Blanc.  And now that he’s found the perfect vineyard to work with in Napa it’s a match in Sauv Blanc Heaven!

When you pour the wine the pale white gold color lights up the room.  The nose is charged with exotic papaya, key lime and a complex note of wet gravel hanging out in the background.  Then the palate is perfectly balanced between all kinds of delicious citric and exotic fruit flavors.  You get bright lemongrass and mango flavors together with an uplifting tangy acidity and a super refreshing finish full of white pepper and fresh herbs.  Every sip of this wine is a firework show of flavor and complexity, and it’s the ideal pairing for a spicy green curry loaded up with shrimp and scallops, or a simple crab and avocado salad.  It’s a winner no matter how you choose to enjoy it!
